How to Make Chocolate Mocha Cobbler

  • 1 Cast iron skillet

Ingredients
  

  • 1 stick salted butter
  • 1 1/2 cup granulated sugar, divided
  • 1 cup self rising flour
  • 8 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder, divided
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup hot coffee

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350F. Place butter in a 10-inch cast iron skillet, or baking dish and place in the oven until butter the is melted.
  • In a small bowl whisk together half of the sugar, (3/4 cup) and half of the cocoa (4 tablespoons.) Set aside.
  • In a medium bowl, stir together remaining ingredients except for the hot coffee.
  • Place the batter into the cast iron skillet with the melted butter and don't stir. Sprinkle the chocolate sugar mixture evenly over the batter. Then, pour the hot coffee coffee over the top. Do not stir.
  • If cooking in cast iron, bake for approximately 30-35 minutes, until center is almost set. You may have to adjust the cooking time for other baking dishes. The center should be somewhat soft, but set on top. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
  • Serve with ice cream or whipped cream.
